In anticipation of next year's Uncharted 4, Sony is re-releasing the original PS3 Uncharted games for the PS4 this month. Bluepoint Games, the team behind the wonderful God of War, Ico/Shadow of the Colossus, & Metal Gear Solid 2/3 remasters, has been tasked with converting the titles to the PS4. This isn't just a quick and dirty port, Sony is treating their flagship title with care.

As I'm sure most of you know, the original Uncharted games were definitely no slouch when it came to the graphics department, they were some of the best looking games on the PS3. Well, thanks to bump in the all around graphical output they look even more beautiful than before. While the originals ran at a nice 720p and 30fps, the Collection is presented in a beautiful 1080p with 60fps. More detailed objects are everywhere thanks to an overall texture increase, upgraded character models bring more life to all characters on screen, lighting is more natural and the game's fire and dust particles/physics have been completely redone. No stone was left unpolished for this port. There is however one thing that is missing from the Collection, and that is the online multiplayer.

While the games may play the same as the did before, they definitely don't look the same. Thanks to all of the above mentioned polishes, I spent most of my time with the demo simply walking around looking at stuff. The water on the ground, clouds in the sky, burning cars, blowing dust, the Collection looks absolutely beautiful. Even though I played the hell out of these games only a few years ago on the PS3, I definitely plan on picking this collection up when it releases on October 7.
